Seniors Section

The senior section was officially formed as a section in 2001. Although we had played one or two games the previous season by becoming an official section of the club we were responsible for the drawing and running our own domestic ties i.e. singles, pairs triples and rinks. The section is responsible for prizes for domestic competitions all except the Senior Rinks prizes which the main club purchases.

We also at the present time play seven friendly games in the years and these proved to be very popular. All are played in the afternoon from May through to September. Members wives supply sandwiches and home baking and we also have donations of whiskey which we raffle. A bottle for the home team and a bottle for the away team. The money raised helps to keep the section going throughout the season. Buses for away games have to be paid for, but we are fortunate that John Bennets buses are very good to us and give us a fair deal.

We have also had days out to Girvan Bowling Club providing light lunch a game of bowls followed by high tea.

At some time during the year we also have a Seniors Supper Dance which help to rais funds to keep the section going. It is usually well attended and there are plenty of donations of raffle prizes.

The senior section is one which numbers fluctuate quite a lot due to illness etc. and can be down a lot in one season and up a lot in the next or vice versa.

2005, the club gave the Senior Section permission to have their own opening day on the Monday following the clubs Saturday opening and has proved to be very successful.
